Even Rocky had a montage...
Greetings and salutations! Today I'm going to post some of my random outfits. Who doesn't like looking at a bunch of not-so-random selfies...

Its just a Push to the left! And then a pull to the ri-i-ight!
Just wanted to take the time to share a video that really helped me get my bow tie game together. I like the way this guy presents, the fact that it has a little bit of humor and finally that he goes NICE. AND. SLOW. Come'on bow tie tutorial people out there... it's not a race. Do you want to teach someone how to tie this silly piece of fabric or don't you? Hmm?! Yeah, that's what I though.
Enjoy!

Dem bones, dem bones
Just a quick post today: Loving one of my new acquisitions: this kick-ass bow tie.
I love this little thing. First, it's not a cheater, so I've had to nail down tying these things. Next I just love the color. It's a nice deep blue and the silver skull and crossbones just pop! Finally it's rather subtle. You have to get rather close to both the shirt and the bow tie in order to notice that both are littered in little skulls.

Unstoppable force, meet Unfoldable Square
For the holidays I did a bit of traveling in the frozen tundra of the north and for me that's pretty much anything north of 38 Longitude. While traveling crazy dinner plans were made and actually came together quite nicely! During this dinner with friends I received a rather unexpected gift that has relevance to this silly blog I have.
The gift was a cylinder, a bit of cloth sticking out one end which I was told to pull. So I pulled. One after another, after another I pull forth from this impossible package squares of cloth tied together by a corner. When I was done pulling I had nearly a 5ft long rope of silk pocket squares of varying colors and textures... Oh and I think I was grinning like a fool.
It was an amazing and thoughtful gift and I am truly grateful for the thought put into it.
The pocket squares were given as something I could add to my (lacking) wardrobe and definitely something that fits within the 1920-ish style I pay homage. When I got them home the first thing I did was delicately iron out all the wrinkles and creases that had form. Let me tell you that was no easy task. You'd think it would be easy enough ironing that all out but, as stubborn goes, I found these little squares to be my match.
Sans wrinkles I now have a bevy of squares to mix and match and coordinate with my ties. Funny thing about silk? It doesn't want to stay folded... EVER. It is an unstoppable force.
In the future I'm probably going to break out the iron again and learn a couple of spiffy pocket square folds, then Iron them stable. But as for now... I keep it simple!

Holiday shuffle and the Tsunami that follows
Hello Ladies and Gentle-bots. I just wanted to drop a quick note (in retrospect, not so quick) here letting you know that I have not given up on this blog, on being professional and dapper, and on trying new things for the first two bits.
Holidays always seem to wreck my time, concentration, and ability to function like a standard human being. You see... I love the holidays and at the same time despise them. It is one of the best times to be with family and friends, to revel in those relationships and to be thankful for those whom made it thru another year. At the same time however it always brings out this air of hostility, subtle callousness, and (dare I say) Grinchness in people. Not people specifically, but people generally if you get my meaning. Considering I attribute this cloud of 'grump' to mob mentality, I STAY AWAY FROM SAID MOB.
I like to think of myself as a person who is generally easy going but when I turn grouchy or down-right angry it's not good for me, for those around me or anyone who happens to cross my path and slights me in the slightest (even if imagined). I don't like grumpy me.
"But, if you shut yourself away during the holidays, doesn't that mean you have more time to write on this silly blog of yours", you ask? Well actually, no. During the holidays I am rather blessed to have an extensive amount of time off; time that typically goes into seeing family I don't tend to see weekly or monthly. No work = minimal dapperness. Yes, dapperness is a thing now.
Getting to the point I should have made three paragraphs ago: I will be picking up on posting in February either on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Until then, be well!
